10. Black Hawk Down (2001)
9. The Great Raid (2005)
8. The Bridge on the River Kwai (1957)
7. Rambo First Blood Part II (1985)
The Rambo Series is my favorite series, and First Blood Part II is my favorite of them all
6. The Expendables (2010)
The Expendables was incredible movie, and an incredible cast, including Sylvester Stalone, my favorite actor.
5. The Dirty Dozen (1967)
The Dirty Dozen, though made at a time when special effects were not known, creates a remarkable, and at some points hilarious movie, being the base for Inglorious Basterds.
4. Full Metal Jacket (1987)
Full Metal Jacket completely describes what the Vietnam war was all about, and shows the Marine Basic Training Process, an incredible introduction combined with the combat and music, notably Fortunate Son, makes Full Metal Jacket the best Vietnam War movie ever made.
3. Inglorious Basterds (2009)
Inglorious Basterds is my favorite fiction war movie, the movie was incredibly satisfying to watch in theatres for the first time, as the entire movie theatre was laughing as the Nazi cowardly surrendered the informartion on were the Basterds could find his comrades. Brad Pitt is incredible in this movie and so is the actor who plays Hitler. The idea of 10 Jewish Americans rampaging through Germany getting revenge for the atrocities committed by the Nazis throughout World War 2 is a perfect idea for a movie, and Guentin Tarantino, who also wrote Pulp Fiction, was the perfect director for this kind of movie.
2. Saving Private Ryan (1998)
Saving Private Ryan the absolute best common era war movie genuinely shows the horror of war, or atleast what I’ve heard from my father and grandfather.
1. The Great Escape (1963)
The Great Escape is my all time favorite war movie because of the classicness of the movie, which is supplemented by the music played often in the movie. To me it shows the true realisticness of war, how most of the men don’t get out of the camp, and most who get out are found and “disapear”.
