Jaws Two (1978): Three and a Half Stars

Four years after “Jaws”, a second great white shark emerges on the shores of Amity Island, leading to another series of death and disappearances. Police Chief Martin Brody returns and suspects that it’s another shark like before. But, also like last time, he has trouble once again convincing the town’s councilmen. But when a group of teenagers, including his two sons, encounter the shark during a sailing trip, Brody must act alone to save them.

The Pink Panther Strikes Again (1976): Five Stars

Chief Inspector Dreyfus has escaped from the mental hospital and sets his sights high as he fully commits himself to killing Inspector Clouseau.

The fifth film in the “Pink Panther” series, “The Pink Panther Strikes Again”, does indeed strike once more and this time with an all-out, non-stop barrel of laugh-out loud gags and moments. It almost feels as if they were saving this hilarious script for the right moment. Clouseau and his boss, who’s been aching to kill him for the past few films, finally go head to head, Dreyfus is now the main villain this time around whereas in the previous films, his insanity and desire to kill Clouseau was more or less a sub plot of sorts to play around with.

The Concorde: Airport ‘79

Joe Patroni, now promoted to Airline Captain, pilots a plane which a corrupt company, Harrison Industries, wants to crash because one of the passengers on board, Maggie, holds documents with her that prove Harrison Industries is secretly making nuclear weapons. The company’s CEO, Kevin Harrison, is also on this flight to make sure all goes as planned, but it doesn’t, so he improvises by de-pressurizing the aircraft at altitude, therefore crashing the plane right into the Alps.

Airport 1975

When a small plane collides with a packed commercial jetliner in mid-air, a flight attendant becomes tasked with landing the plane which now has no pilots at all.

“Airport 1975″ is a sequel that is worthy of being a successor to its original counterpart. It borrows the same formulas and archetypes from “Airport” but sticks to one story-line instead of working itself across multiple subplots (as the original did), this allows for more concentration on the action that is taking place. It also introduces its characters fast and with ease and then immediately gets things going.
