Sf Film Review: This Island Earth (1955)
I give a one thumb up rating to This Island Earth for art direction and evoking the “sense of wonder” of science fiction of the 40s and 50s. Younger viewers may find the film incoherent or confusing and the special effects ridiculous. On the other hand, fans of Universal horror films will find this picture more watchable than many of the other titles Universal made in the 50s.
