Avarice. (One Dragon). A Poetry Analysis
Avarice was inspired by The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Part of the Chronicles of Narnia by CS Lewis, on which I was raised as a child. The boy who enters the dragons cave is Eustace and this poem follows his metamorphosis from child into dragon. In western culture dragons are depicted as greedy hoarders of gold. They are monsters with monstrous desires.
