Harsh Times was released in 2007 and stars Christian Bale and Freddy Rodriguez. This crime drama is a little slow to warm up but packs a great performance and a lot of drama in the final act.

A society where “taboo” topics such as premarital sex or incest were never discussed or shown in films would create a superficial and dishonest feel for the material, and as a result would not be very believable to the viewers.

The film does a good job of bringing up the question of whether or not the widow aspect of Indian culture should be maintained without directly accusing the viewers for their beliefs.
