My little brother told me last night that he had never watched independence day with Will Smith and I made him sit and watch the whole two hours of it last night and now he’s a huge fan of the movie.
At first he didn’t believe that Will Smith starred in it and I have to agree that watching the beginning I didn’t get to see much of him either but then when the jet fighters wer brought in there he was and he made the movie so much fun to watch so thank you Will Smith for making this movie.

I also wanted to add that I loved the action scenes that the movie had, and when I heard that they used small models of famous places when they were blowing them up I couldn’t believe it because they looked so good while I was watching that movie that I was worried that they had actually blown up the actual buildings!
I also loved the aliens, they were the creepiest, ugly little things ever, and I think that they would probably beat the aliens from the X files and War of the World movies. Also while I was watching it, when the scientist came up with the idea of how to defeat the aliens I was a bit annoyed that War of the Worlds kind of had the same idea of how to defeat the aliens. Now I’m not too sure of which novel came out first but the authors shouldn’t rip off another guy’s idea, that’s just wrong.

If they both thought about the solution independently then sorry I shouldn’t criticise, but to be fair I think Independence Day was a much better movie than War of the Worlds, the ending to War of the Worlds felt unfinished after I had watched it and I was a little disappointed with Tom Cruise and his acting, while Independence Day was much more watchable and the characters much more likeable and yeah you did actually care about the people in the movie, because let’s face it it was about the whole world and the Americans actually involved the people from the other countries to help them out and that’s what it was mainly about.
I felt so teary while listening to the President’s (Bill Pullman) Independence Day speech before sending everyone into battle and it was just such a touching film and that’s why I love it so much. I recommend you watch it at least once, because it is a two hour movie, because it’s just such a good movie.

You know, I just watched this movie again with my kids. They had never seen it. They loved it. Some movies like this one, never get old. You want to see them over and over again. Thanks!
