Avatar Review 101: A Must-see Movie

Have you seen it yet?

If you haven’t see it yet. It’s time to grab your friends, your partner or kids and buy the ticket and see the movie. Whatever theater you’re going to, make sure it’s the 3D version. I admit that it was my first time seeing a 3D movie  If you are the person who doesn’t want to wear glasses or not use to wear one? It may be annoying for the first time.  I tried not to wear the 3D glass on the movie and  tested my eyes on the screen directly  but my visualization seemed to double the cool graphics on the screen.  So,  I wore it until  the end of film (Big deal) It’s not that I am the loneliest species on earth that I watched the movie all by myself (with a lullabye of “All by Myself” song) I just want to see the movie and concentrate on it. Well, what could be wrong if I had friends with me or someone? Huh…well they were not reachable at those times and I wanted to see what James Cameron (a fantastic movie maker since TITANIC) up to.

The movie was eye blinker, teeth knashing, jaw dropping, heart-wrenching movie of the year. The plot, which is the most important aspect of the movie was illustrated with great beginning till the ends. The scene is take place in the so called Pandora. Pandora planet is another world which inhabited by Na’vi. They are taller than humans,  physically stronger and acquire difinite qualities of being a warrior. Na’vi, a race of extraterrestrial humanoids acquiring blue skin, living harmoniously at the heart of a big-huge tree and believe that Eywa, their great great ancestors still exist and would protect them inhabited the land.

Here comes human being who did not consider themselves as an Alien in Pandora. They brought marines and warriors in the planet. Their mission is to destroy the big-huge tree where Na’vi lives. Under it are the scattered mineral called “unobtainium” that is worth 20 million a kilo. Since human being could not breath around Pandora’s atmosphere for long without oxygen. They created a human Na’vi called Avatar. Jake Sullen (Sam Worthington), a paraphegic marine who replaced his deceased brother decided to join the dangerous force in exchanged of future  treatment for him to be able to walk again . His brother was a scientist trained and an human avatar was killed in action. Jake, who is not informed, untrained and did not know anything about Pandora becomes the last minute replacement of his brother. Jake’s mission is to get on the avatar’s brain, controlled it, make friends with native Na’vis and become one of them. One of Jakes personality is curios and eager. As soon as he’s inside the body and the brain of the human avatar, he run as fast as he could and touch everything according to his own curiosity, until a huge and big Pandora animal is after him. He get lost in the forest till night. He is rescued by a maiden Na’vi called Neytiri (Zoe Aldana) in the heartless Pandora wild dogs, who become his trainor as he stays in the land. She trained Jake about their ways and rituals. The way to ride their horses and a big flying bird over the sky. She teach him their language and traditions. Teach him everything. Obviously, both of them fall in love. But, Jake who has a  commitment to his people is confused. He is torn between the Na’vi and his fellow humans.

When Colonel Miles Quaritch (Stephen Lang), leader of the security forces for RDA saw Jake smashing the monitor of the bulldozzer as the mission to destroy the natives sacred “Tree of Voices” takes place, he pulled out Jake from the coffin-like mechanism. But the mission will be executed. They bomb the land and able to destroy the tree where the Na’vi lives.

Neyzeri finds out about Jake’s mission and hated him for a while. The war becomes intense. Neyziri’s dad is killed in the battle. Many Na’vis people died due to the bomb and explosion around. Jake and his team decided to saved the Na’vis. It becomes the battle of Pandora. Jake ask the ancestors to help them in the battle and when almost Na’vi people lost their forces and in the battle, animals and gigantic flying birds around kill the marines.

In the end, Jake becomes one of the Na’vi.

Great review. We saw it on Christmas Eve in 3-D and it was worth the money. It is one terrific movie.

I watched it at home through Movie2k. I thought it was very well done, with excellent effects. However, the plot echoes many SF books, such as “The word for World is Forest”, and several of the Dorsai series.

It was a great movie. I saw it on New Year’s. I did also think the story was a lot like Pocahontas. 3D was awesome!
