To Love Again: A Movie Review

In the 80’s, Sharon Cuneta starred in the numerous romance movies. She is a famous singer-actress. She is a wife of Senator Francis Pangilinan and a mother of famous actress KC Concepcion. She has two other daughter with Francis Pangilinan, they are Frankie and Miel.

This movie is under Viva Films. It is cast by Miguel Rodriguez, Sharon Cuneta, Liza Lorena, Charlie Davao, Dante Rivero, and other cast members. This film is directed by Danny Zialcita. It was released on July 1983.

Summary:

The rich scion from the south Rafaela Laperal (Sharon Cuneta) was forced to married to Alberto Alcantara (Miguel Rodriguez) to save their family’s fortune. For Dona Lupita Alcantara, she wants Rafaela to be her daughter in law as an investment for saving their reputation to the alta sociedad. However, Rafaela nicknamed Raffy ran away and went to lumberyard to work as a secretary. Then, she met Bullet, who is Alberto Alcantara himself. She saved Bullet from death by blood transfusion because he is nearly killed by the rebels. Fortunately, she fell in love with him. On the other hand, Bullet also fell in love with her.

Then, she went to Manila to escape from a pervert employer as she worked as a secretary in a garments factory of her aunt. She met Bullet again at Manila. Bullet did not reveal his identity even though he found out the real identity of Raffy.

When Raffy knew that her mom is getting married to her suitor Don Ramon, she decided to marry Alberto Alcantara because she doesn’t agree her mother’s decision to be a sacrificial goat for their family’s fortune.
In the end, all ends well because Raffy can get along easily with her step dad Don Ramon as she ended up with Alberto Alcantara whom she loves most.

Conclusion:

The situation of the story is not as complicated as it seems to be but I still manage to understand the story. The love team of Sharon Cuneta and Miguel Rodriguez has chemistry. As we all know, the late Miguel Rodriguez is a well known matinée idol during the 80’s. This story is created out of fantasy of a love story as we obviously see it. I like this movie very much. Aside from the performance of the actors, I also like the setting and the plot of the screenplay.
