The Notebook is an all time classic, must see, romantic film out there today! A guaranteed tear jerker, for men and for women! I have seen the notebook so many times to count and it ceases to amaze me that every time I watch it I cry an abundance of tears, which being a man isn’t the easiest thing to admit. The first time I watched it I had just suffered an heart splitting breakup from my ex partner, so I thought “oh I’ll watch The Notebook”, so there was me all alone in my room with my dog lady and a duvet wrapped around me, little did I know that even the un-emotional parts I was pouring with tears, and let alone when the emotional parts came around that was me finished! The duvet wrapped around me had the largest puddle of tears on it barely able to sleep under and I was streaming for a good hour after the film had finished, and I have been like that ever since, every time I watch it I have the same results without fail!
A quick summary of the film:
The story the notebook is about two young American teenagers, an unlikely match, the girl, Allie, who comes from a wealthy family. And the boy, Noah, who is a lumber yard worker, living on a small wage of $0.48 an hour. When they both meet and fall head over heels for each other, due to Noah’s persistence at trying to get Allie on a date. Then they spend the whole summer in Eachothers Company, until Allie’s parents move her back to New York. Noah writes Allie three hundred and sixty five letters, all of which Allie’s mother takes and stows them away for safe keeping, for seven years! The war comes around and Allie becomes a voluntary nurse where she meets a young soldier who she later gets engaged to. When in the bridal shop trying on her wedding dress, where she finds a picture in the news paper of the house Noah had restored to Allie’s specifications, when she returns to sea brook, the place she and Noah had their original summer romance, as to our expectations Allie falls back madly in love with Noah. For the rest you will just simply have to watch the movie…
I would suggest you have a box of tissues with you during the whole time!
Oh and also watch it with a loved one, as you don’t want to be like me and sob to yourself.
