Lucky You or Not So Lucky You

Now don’t get me wrong I love Drew Barrymore and to me most of her
movies are pretty good. Unfortunately “Lucky You” isn’t one of them. This is one of
the worst movies I’ve seen this year. Wasn’t impressed. Drew Barrymore was not enough
to get my attention. And the male actor Eric Bana put me to sleep.

The plot which
involves a professional poker player whose astounding luck at the table fails to
translate into his lonesome love life attempts to win the World Series of Poker while
simultaneously earning the affections of a beautiful Las Vegas singer in a high-stakes
emotional drama is a snore.

The emotional twist in the film is when the poker player has to play against his
estranged father…who just so happens to be a poker legend in his own right. Not that
emotional at least not to me. “Lucky You” is definitely not Lucky compared to all the
other much better films playing in the theaters this month!
