Review: The Sixth Sense (1999)

The best ghost story you’ll ever see.

Haley Joel Osment. Now he’s got a lot of talent, especially his hair-raising performance “I see dead people”. Every time I watch this film, I always cry and then when the credits roll I become too scared to go to sleep.

The one scene that got to me the most was when the young protagonist played by Osment, Cole Sear, got up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. And then a figure dashes past him. You don’t know how high I jumped out of my seat. When Cole walked into the kitchen, thinking it was his mother, and then it turned out it was a lady with deep scars on her face and she started yelling and chased him down the hall. I stopped breathing.

M. Night. Shyamalan, the director, is a very good screenwriter and director. I’ve read “The Sixth Sense” screenplay and I love the way he writes.

Bruce Willis was so solemn. The twist at the end just added to how powerful the story was of a boy who could see ghosts.

I thought it was heartbreaking how a small boy felt like he was tormented  by dead people.

If you haven’t seen it, go watch it.

Best wishes!
