Review: Ringu 0: Basudei
The prequel of Ringu. A remake of it is being made retitled "The Ring 3" due for 2010.
You may know Samara/Sadako as the antagonist from Ringu/The Ring series. But in this Japanese prequel, it shows Sadako as the tormented protagonist.
I cried a lot while watching this movie. I never thought a fictional character could be so cruel.
A quick summary. Sadako joins an acting troupe and falls in love with one of the members, Hiroshi Toyama, but everyone around her starts to die and she becomes a suspect.
I don’t want to give the ending away, but you probably know the ending if you’ve seen the original Ringu. It has horror and a bit of romance. A little scary.
If you ever get to watch the series, watch it in the order of Ringu, Ringu 2 and then this one last. It’ll make more sense and keep the suspense.
