I saw all of the commercials for the horribly terrified crowd for Paranormal Activity. The screams and jumping really made it look scary. I don’t know who they had watching that movie, but this is no where near scary. It is more like a cheap reinactment of supposed “true events”.
This girls’ boyfriend went out and bought a nice camera to record around the house and to leave on overnight in the bedroom. The couple had been hearing noises in the house for awhile now. The movie is very similar to the Blair Witch Project. The way they act, and the general look of whole movie just screams it.
It is filled with thumps and noises to scare you at random moments. That is all you really ever see, and some creepy video of a excorsism gone wrong that was played in the movie, that is about as creepy as it gets. Otherwise it is just noises that make this movie creepy.
All in all, I figure it took about the price of the camera, which probably ranged from $500-$2000 and the cost of hiring 2 friends to go around your house making noises, and you got your self a movie. Not trying to be mean, but I just really thought this movie sucked, and I wasn’t scared at all, I wasn’t bored, it was pretty interesting, but in the end it failed to scare me, and seems far from a horror film.
