As I walked into the theater today to view this film that has the entire nation buzzing, I wondered if I would be able to sleep tonight. I sat down with the expectations to soon be screaming and hiding my face in the shoulder of my friend.
As the movie begins the anticipation starts almost immediately. It keeps you on the edge of your seat through the entire film. Its creepy, fascinating, horrifying and exciting all at once. The mood in the room is tense. Everyone around me was experiencing the film in their own personal way but jumping and screaming at the same time as a group. It was a great horror film that brings a real fear back to reality.
In my opinion it wasn’t as scary as I thought it would be from the advertisements and the hype. However, I realized that the 80-90% of the people who are terrified after seeing this movie, are those who have never experienced a paranormal situation themselves. The unknown is always scary. The other 10-20% are terrified because they have had personal paranormal experience. I do believe this story could be based on true events.
I do recommend seeing this movie but would think twice about letting anyone under 18 see it.
