Hollywood: Ten “Non-scary” Horror Films
If you wish to get scared or jump out of your bed then avoid these films.
The Evil Dead 2

This was the first ‘comic-horror’ film that I ever watched. The first film of the series scared the hell out of me but this one couldn’t make me jump of my chair more than twice. Dancing corpses and a possessed hand doing funny things is not something that would make you scared.
The Reaping

This film had a very promising start and then the plot was lost completely. We wait for those creepy moments but they never occur and the film ends. One of the worst movies of Hillary Swank
The Fog (remake)

The original film was superb but the remake is a complete crap. In a wish to bring some changes from the original film, the director forgot to put the horror elements in the script. The much better special effects and CGI fail to create the same terror of the FOG.
The Cave

This one was not a bad film but when you compare it with the another cave film ‘The Descent’, ‘The Cave’ seems like another ordianry horror film.
The Skeleton Key

This film is not bad as a suspense thriller but there isn’t much horror in it. So if you are looking forward to some spooky moments then better watch some other horror flick.
Psycho (remake)

If you have watched Alfred Hitchcock’s classic then please don’t watch this and even if You haven’t then too go for the original which was miles better than this ’shot-for-shot’ remake.
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (remake)

Another Remake that makes mess of the original. The beginning and end of the film is somewhat innovative fine but rest of the film stands no where near the original.
Darkness Falls

This One is a completely illogical film with many loopholes in the script The film has some good horror scenes but the film as a whole doesn’t impress much.
The Ring 2

‘The ring’ was a very good film with loads of turns and twists along with good ‘gore-less’ horror. The sequel is just so-so. The frshness of the original is missing and you have a feeling of ‘deja-vu’ watching it.
The Grudge 2

The ‘Ring 2′ is still an ok sort of film but this one makes a complete 180 degree turn in terms of quality from its first film ‘The Grudge’. What this film consists of is 3 different narrations, a completely messed up plot and a weird climax. Forget about anything creepy.

I have to agree. These movies weren’t really scary at all. A lot of people I know think the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake was really scary, but then, after I direct them to the original, they realize how crumy the remake actually was and have a whole new respect for what scary really means.
