Movie Review of Oliver Stone’s W.

Being a political fan I couldn’t wait to get to the theatres to see the much anticipated Oliver Stones Movie, W. Oliver Stone in my Opinion is one of the best directors in the business. A line of classic films with Nixon included as one of them. The movie Nixon seemed to be a fair Portrait of the President showing the strengths along with his faults and poor decisions.

The movie W. comes across as a straight out attempt at discrediting anything positive George W. Bush has accomplished in his life. The best portrayal of George W. during the whole movie is his memory skills during a hazing frat party, being able to remember all the frat brother’s names.

Watching Oliver Stone make the talk show circuit before the movie release made one expect a fair and balanced portrayal of the President. After watching the movie, the viewer gets a one sided biased liberal view of a President that has served during the worst terrorist attack on American Soil.

Josh Brolin does a great acting job of the script given to him to play a dumbass.  But no matter what your party affiliation is, the 43rd President of The United States deserves better than a four month rush job released two weeks before the election. Perhaps the movie would have been better received on the West Coast with an entirely liberal audience waiting at the ropes to get a laugh at a sitting President.

Oliver Stone is a great filmmaker who created one of the most accurate war movies with platoon. I will continue to look forward to Oliver Stones movies but was disappointed with the fictional movie W.
