The children’s movie How to Train Your Dragon came out on DVD recently.
Hiccup is a young viking who is smaller in size than a lot of the other viking children. He sometimes gets looked down upon for that reason and while his father loves him you can tell that he is disappointed by his son’s lack of dragon and fighting skills.
When Hiccup accidently injurs a dragon he feels badly about and tries to help the dragon. The two form an unlikely friendship and partnership. Hiccup not only proves that he has the skills to train a dragon but also that vikings and dragons can be friendly work together. Toothess and Hiccup work together to save both Hiccups village and the dragons way of life.
Hiccup also hopes to impress a viking girl.
This is a very cute children’s movie. It has a great deal of lessons to be learned about making friends, and about trusting yourself and having confidence, and how to be true to yourself. The relationship between Hiccup and his father while rough in the begining becomes a wonderful blossoming of and learning experience for father and son.
The movie was written by William Davies, with the screenplay written by, Dean DeBois. Also directed by Dean DeBois and Chris Sanders. Staring Jay Baruchel, Gerard Butler, and Christopher Mintz.
This is a movie the whole family can enjoy!
