Mermaids The Body Found: Last Night’s Repeat

Earlier this year Animal Planet had it’s first viewing of Mermaids the Body found. I had missed it, but over the next few days had seen articles about it on Blogher and other places. The Blogher one was funny as underneath it had a little video that we could watch. It was the one of the kid running down the beach and seeing the mermaid body with the webbed hand. When he turns away shocked and looks back, you see the scary mermaid’s face popping up. Well, of course he’s shocked and runs away, but it also made me think of those Scream movies which got me laughing and we replayed the little video a few times for my daughter.

And then we got searching and viewing all these other videos on the Mermaids the Body found. We saw the imagery videos of how they think the mermaids might have looked and swimming with the dolphins and one of the mermaids getting eaten by Megalodon.

Of course last night, that part was at the very end of the show. You’ve got to figure that younger kids are watching as they want to see the mermaids, and they wanted to make them wait until the last moments for the best part of the whole show. It was the best part.

The rest of it was just the scientists talking about the things they found. Spears coming out of sharks and other animals, the findings from the body the kids found on the beach. Sonar waves,,, killing all the beached whales. And of course their signs of hearing this other creature communicating with the dolphins and whales.

And then there was talk of cover ups. You know all the things that they don’t want the public to know about. There are lots of cover ups that we have just been left in the dark about because they probably don’t want us to know the whole truth about very important things. Alien life force, JFK’s assassination cover up, etc….

On Animal Planet, they made it sound like they had talked to the kids and the mother not to leak out any information about what they found as they said that it would just cause an uproar or more.

And then there is also the possibility that it is all just pulling our legs too and it’s simply not true. That was my first thought when I saw the little kid video. Was it all planned out for fun to get a mass attention to it?

But then you have the fact that there are beached whales behind the kids, and why would Animal Planet air a show like that if some of it wasn’t true?

I’m sure these scientists aren’t lying about the things that they found and what they are speculating about. It’s got to be somewhat reputable if Animal Planet has shown it on national television. Think about it, they could possibly get in trouble if it was all for show and didn’t really back up the real discoveries. There would be some mass controversy about it and possible trouble with airing something like that.

But we also know that what they showed at the end of how the mermaids were swimming with the dolphins and all those visuals are just what they think these creatures really looked like.
