Harry Potter Movie Series
Harry Potter is a wonderful book searies, but the movies that are being made are terrible. Whats the deal with that?
Harry Potter, for those who are not aware, is a childrens book based off the world we know and tied to a world were magic, wizards, witches, and magical creatures all exist. I have two main problems with the movies.
The First is the clothing. In the books the children are always described as wearing wizard ropes. The times when the people are actually wearing mugle, or normal to us, clothing it is extreamly expressed in the writing that this is an unusual thing to see a wizard in. The movies show the people in mugle clothing almost all of the time. If they are wearing a uniform for the school it is either half taken off or only for a moment or two of the movie. There are occasions when the movie gets it right but not as often as it should be able to.
The Second is the special effects, mainly with the use of magic, aporition, and fighting. The book describes magic as bursts and balls of color or light energing from the wand tip and flying at the person to witch it is aimed. In the movie the spells are often simply light beams with a huge radius or some sort of energy beam which simply streches and streches twards the enemy. As for aporition the book refers to it as a turn, pop, and vanishment. How hard can it be to make that happen in the movie? The movie creates a whole ordeal out of the wizard tunring to a gostly mass (Black if he is evil and white if he is’nt) and flying around to where he needs to go. Often he is even able to cast spells from this state of being. Aporition is suposed to be instant. My problem with fighting is a mixture of my opinoins expressed in the previuous two paragraphs. The fights eventually turn into a tangled mess of black and white ghostly figures. The only good fight in the whole serires is when Voldemort and Dumbledore battle it out at the ministry of magic. It shows two opponents shooting spells and such at each other. The fighting needs to look real to the book description. It is Harry Potter right?
