Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince
Well is it living up to what we think?
Form the release of the new Harry Potter movie criticisms hasn’t been rolling in to the media. So does this mean every one is happy with the new release? Certainly it is one of the longest movies you will be able to find, but there have been bits in that movie that some of the fans were aching to see, such as more Quidditch matches where Ron tests the Felix Felicis or more of Tom Riddles memories. These may be considered unimportant but are the bits to miss out, well certainly it would be the bits that I would enjoy watching the most.
Now the new actor for Slughorn, is he what we were expecting? It wasn’t what I was expecting, but it did give an impact and gave him maybe a bit of a humor.
Though all the acting done were exceptional but I have to focus on one point. The scene that Ron kisses Lavender, then Hermione starts crying I would have thought there would be more anger. On the point of actors, what about Lavender Brown? (Leave your comment below).
One pressing fault in the making of the movie. Katie Bell who, in the books, is a year older than Harry now appear in his potions class. Was this an uncalled for fault or something else?
Cormac McLaggen, he plays yet another humorous character, to an extent. But the theme of him having a ting for Hermione totally called for?
The designs of Diagon Alley, we all appreciate the amount of work that has gone into making it, including the joke shop, then why do they not spend more times filming the finer detail. We all know that the movie was lengthy and had to cut it down then why not do what they are going to do with the “Deathly Hallows” and have two movies for one book?
The directing of the battle at the Burrow was unexpected because it was not written in the books, this must mean that the directors have at least a bit of creativity in them and I enjoyed that a lot.
Throughout the movie a constant theme has gone though it. Can you guess? Well it’s the idea of humor, from the start they have being adding bits of soft humor, and for example Dumbledore acting in a more, I would say, childish. But that make it rather more interesting and addicting. Another part was if you were avid then you would have notice they were using Bunsen Burners for the potion making. Can you imagine Dumbledore calling the gas company?
Dumbledore’s death, was it good or bad? The bit of him actually dying was great, may people cried when the great silence came. However there was no ‘white tomb’. It ended with the trio talking, with great scenery.
Part from the pictures, the background music has changed- looks like John Williams had his work cut out. ‘Hedwig’s Theme’ only can in once to me as a musical it was a great disappointment.
Drawing to my conclusion, the film is top rated, but for someone who has never read Harry Potter, they would not know what on Hogwarts is going on.
