Bloodsuckingly Good, Just Like “blade” But with Love
A Slightly Late Twilight Review For Anyone Who Missed It. I know, weird, a guy lamenting on how good Twilight is.

On an obscure weekend, I was one of the few (unfortunate) guys to be dragged into the movie, “Twilight” and in spite of being spoiled by reading the book and then watching the movie; I was surprised to be impressed by how “bloody” good the movie was.
Was Bella, the pale faced mortal, destined fall for Edward, the pale faced immortal? It seemed to be when Bella was kicked out of sunny city Phoenix and thrust into the drab town of Forks to live with her almost cool – just almost cool – dad. Promising herself to be one of those emo-first-day-at-school types, she utterly failed at that as everyone wanted to be BFF with her the moment she set foot in school.
Of course, there is always a heart throb in every lovey-dovey chick flick and here, you find the meaning of vampire seduction, Edward Cullen. He is actually a really old guy trapped in a 17 year old body but he doesn’t say that explicitly because – guess, no really guess – he is in love with Bella! LIKE OMGOSH, SURPRISE!
There were definitely sweet spots to this estrogen filled movie (seriously, I could smell it) that, no doubt, contributed to the success of this bloodsucking epic.
First off, vampire baseball. This fast paced game is a modern, broomstick-less homage to Harry Potter’s Quidditch.
Then we have vampires with pallor parallel to mimes that sparkle in the sunlight. Honestly, Edward looked like he fell asleep in the middle of a girl’s only slumber party. I have to admit, it was a bit unsettling for a guy to witness.
Lastly, we have – What else? – Edward Cullen! This heart stopper is quoted telling Bella, “So the Lion fell in love with the Lamb” and shortly after, you can hear the mesmerized sighs from every straight girl in the theater.
I would recommend this classic flick to anyone who adore (read: adore) vampires and dislike being food to them as “Twilight” is a break from those usually action-packed vampire films. I’m still a straight guy, right? Right!?
