The Magic Roundabout
The magic roundabout film has been very highly praised from a range of different magazines and newspapers.
The daily mirror said regarding the film ‘Dazzling…The must-see movie for families’ and gave it a four star rating. Star magazine said ‘Simply magic’ and also gave it a rating of four stars. It has quite a star cast including: Kylie Minogue as the voice of Florence; Robbie Williams as the voice of Dougal; Tom Baker as the voice of Zeebad; Jim Broadbent as the voice of Brian the snail and Lee Evans as the voice of the magic train. The main plot of the film is caused by dougal (still as his sugar-loving self), he drives into the magic roundabout on a cart whilst on a mad escapade to get some candy, releasing the evil zeebad.
Zeebad turns out to be Zebedee’s arch enemy and in ancient times, Zebedee had fought Zeebad, defeated him and imprisoned him in the magic roundabout. Free once again Zeebad wants to freeze the sun, plunging the earth into darkness and cold. His first act of evilness is trapping Florence and the children inside the roundabout behind a wall of ice. Once escaped, Zeebad disapears. Then follows the story as dougal and friends go on a journey to find Zeebad and the three magic diamonds to save Florence and the children. Blaming Dougal for what has happened, the other animals leave dougal on watch at night whilst they sleep and ion the morning Dougal has vanished! Can they rescue Dougal, find the diamonds, stop zeebad and get home in time for bed? Watch it to find out! Rating 8/10
