The Cheetah Girls: One World

A review of Disney’s new movie.

After the success of the first two Cheetah Girls films, starring Raven Symone as Galleria, Adrianne Baillon as Channelle, Sabrina Bryan as Dorinda and Kelly Williams as Aqua. Disney went on to make the latest Disney Channel movie, Cheetah Girls: One World. I was surprised to see that in the time between the second film and the third, The Cheetah Girls only seemed to consist of three members, meaning the fourth (Raven Symone) was missing.

The new movie premiered on Disney Channel recently and people of all ages were keen to watch it. At the very beginning of the movie Channelle, Dorinda and Aqua were performing a song, they started off on a big stage in front of loads of fans however by the end of the number they came back into reality and it turned out they were at some sort of audition. The man watching didn’t seem impressed, so one of the girls explained that they were supposed to be a foursome but Galleria was at Cambridge. This gave a good, believable reason why she wasn’t in the film. There has been lots of rumours about the real-life reason but I’m still not sure.

After this the girls went to an Indian Cuisine and got a phone call asking if they wanted to be in a Hollywood movie, they jumped at the opportunity but it didn’t turn out quite how they’d hoped. They went to the audition and were told that they would be flying to Mumbai in India! Channelle had misheard, he actually said that they were going to be in a Bolllywood movie.

The story continues with their Indian adventure, there is only one role and they are made to try out against each other instead of as a group. They each meet boys on the way who try and get the one they like the part. In between all the dialogue there is a number of songs and street style mixed with Bollywood style dance routines.

I really enjoyed this film however it ended a bit swiftly. It was a nice romantic, fun but a little predictable musical that suits a range of peoples taste in movie.
