High School Musical 3: Senior Year
A review of the third High School Musical movie.
High School Musical 3: Senior Year came out on October 24, 2008, but only in theaters. Because of this, Disney spent more money on the movie and, in turn, made it better.
The Wildcats are back for their final year at East High. The movie begins the way that the first movie ended, with the championship basketball game. It is the end of the first quarter and the Wildcats are losing badly. The first song is Now or Never sung by Troy (Zac Efron), Gabriella (Vanessa Hudgens), and the rest of the team. The Wildcats win the game by one point. The final goal is made by a new kid, Jimmy “Rocketman” Zarra, troy’s ‘prodigy.’ At the after party at Troy’s house, Troy shows Gabriella his treehouse. He along with his best friend Chad (Corbin Bleu) are offered the chance to play basketball at the University of Albuquerque.
This year is all about college! Where do they want to go, and they don’t want to be away from eachother. It’s also about prom. Like Troy, Sharpay (Ashley Tisdale) has a new assisstant. The assisstant is from London and is hoping to take over East High once Sharpay is gone. Her bubble is burst when she learns that Sharpay will be back the following year as an assisstant to Mrs. Darbus. All the while, Kelsi signs the everyone up to do the spring musical. Mrs. Darbus decides it will be about them and their last days at East High. It turns out that Mrs. Darbus sent an application to Julliard in Troy’s name. The interesting part of this is that Troy is actually considering going if they select him.
Gabriella is chosen for the Stanford early freshmen orientation, where she gets to go to college early. Shortly after she leaves, she decides not to come back. She tells Troy this over the phone. Stanford is over a thousand miles from Albuquerque. Troy drives to Stanford to surprise Gabriella on Prom nite, and they just make it back for the show. Ryan and Kelsi win the scholarships from Julliard, and Troy decides to go to University of California at Berkeley because it is only 32.7 miles from Stanford. The movie ends with the song titled High School Musical and it’s about how the movies changed their lives and how nothing will ever be like it and how they wish it could be longer.

This was an excellent movie. I’m sorry to say the High School Musical era is over.
