Betty White in Disney’s “You Again” with Jamie Lee Curtis and Sigourney Weaver
The “Golden Girl” appears in Disney’s new movie.
The legendary Betty White is going to be part of the cast for Andy Fickman’s new Disney comedy “You Again.” scheduled for 2010. The story, as in most Disney movies, is very simple: A woman finds out that the girl her brother wants to marry is one of those bullies who had picked on her while she was in school.
Betty White, most widely known for her appearances in The Golden Girls has won five emmy awards, one of them for her charming way of hosting a game show. She has been in the movie business for more than 65 years now and still shows the cameras her smile which is all optimism, upbeat and hungry for life.
So whether the script of Fickman’s new movie is going to work or not, casting Betty White as granny for the main-character is an ingredient that is almost fail-safe and sure to generate a buzz around the flick long before it will finally hit the screens next year.
And Betty White is not the only promising actress who is part of the cast. Jamie Lee Curtis, Kristin Chenoweth, Odette Yustman, Victor Garber, Kristen Bell and Sigourney Weaver are an altogether interesting mix that might just patch up the wispy storytelling Disney is known for.
