The Last Sin Eater: A Movie Review

This movie is cast by Liana Lebrato, Peter Wingfield, Henry Thomas, and Louisa Fletcher and others.   Michael Landon Jr. worked with Brian Bird for the screenplay.  I believed that Liana Lebrato is the best child actress in her role, Cadi Forbes, because she did her best in portraying that role.  Henry Thomas who portrayed the man of God  has been a Golden Globe nominee, and Louisa Fletcher who portrayed the role of Miz Elda has been an academy award winner.  Every casts has been challenge in portraying their roles, and they all did their part.  The story is about a little girl who is not intentionally to discover the secrets of the history of their community and the truth about Jesus Christ.

Synopsis:

In 1850’s at Appalachia, there lives a 10 years old Cadi Forbes who has a long time crushing burden of her past sorrowful memory.  Her younger sister was died in an accident at the falls, and then her mother did not give her much affection.  She is searching for the Sin Eater to take away her sins away.  The Sin Eater is a chosen man from their community who lives in the caves of Death Man Mountain.  He is a sort of a special person in their community who was chosen by the custom and traditions of the people from Wales.  Unfortunately, the Sin Eater could not take away her sins. 

When Cadi Forbes met a stranger called the man of God, this stranger told him the truth about Jesus Christ who lives on earth thousand years ago to save the people from their sins.  Cadi Forbes realized that she would not be needed of the Sin Eater because Jesus Christ has already taken away her sin if she would ask forgiveness from Him. She told Miz Elda and Fagan Kai about the truth from the Gospel.

Unfortunately, Brogan Kai who is the ruler of the community did not like the idea of true redemption that can only found in Jesus Christ and he beat the stranger to death.  He also beat his own son who stand up with the stranger against him, but his son Fagan Kai survived.  Then, Fagan Kai and Cadi Forbes coordinate with Miz Elda to pronounce to the people in the community about the truth of the redemption which can be found in the Gospel.  And, the community was Christianized except for Bragan Kai.

Conclusion:

I conclude that a man has unlimited imagination that would lead the world to chaos.  The good example of this statement is the character of Bragan Kai who shun himself from the opportunity of the truth, which can be found in the Gospel.  Therefore, a man should be educated with the truth about moral values.  This movie make the viewers realized that there are some parts in Europe who are lost souls, and they should be reached out by the missionaries who worked hard for sharing the Gospel wherein we could found the truth about the true redemption that can be found in Jesus Christ.
