Fireproof

About a fireman and his relationship with his wife.

Captain Caleb Holt lives like a regular firefighter and goes about on 24 hour shifts and come home for two days after. He seems to be a slacker and does not do much around the house. His wife is mad and has been for some time now. She is made he does not do anything and also she’s mad that he has twenty-four thousand stacked up for some boat when she feels that it could be used elsewhere.

Over the seven years their marriage has been crumbling to pieces like a house on fire and now all that remains is for the roof to collapse. Can their marriage survive or will it perish.

Caleb’s father brings to Caleb what he had tried with his mother and is confident it will work for Caleb as well. He sends it to him in the mail, a small journal that has 40 days planned out. Each day something new is to be done and Caleb has to do it if he wants to save his marriage. It’s called the Love Dare.

Throughout the Love Dare the wife continually rejects the actions that the husband takes to try and repair the marriage that he does not want to end. You basically see this for about 20 minutes and then she finds the book that he has been doing. And basically all is good :)

The thing is that throughout the movie the message of Christianity is very prominent and it is kind of pushed in your face. So be advised that it is a religious movie as well as a love story. Good movie, but just has the religion up in your face throughout the movie.
