It doesn’t matter if you’re not Asian. Asian dramas are so popular these days and many times if you search for them online, especially youtube, you can find many of them translated into your native language in case you don’t speak Chinese, Korean, Japanese, etc. Now I know there are some of you out there who really spurn watching dramas, let alone Asian dramas, but some of them are just really entertaining to watch. If you don’t want to be spoiled, stop reading now. The following is a list that I have seen and what I thought of each of them:
Smiling Pasta-This story is just really cute. I mean, granted, the chances of running into and falling in love with a celebrity we have never met before is slim to none, but the drama is still cute anyway. The girl may be naive, but she makes everyone believe that anything really is possible if you just believe. I also love her safety kiss. She makes a device that looks a lot like a handmade fan, but turns out it is used to protect her from getting a kiss from the wrong person because she’s saving her first kiss for someone special! The pasta she makes is special, too. It makes you smile when you eat it and seems to dissolve whatever stressful situation that’s on your mind.
Tokyo Juliet-This one’s great for people who want a closer look at the fashion world and the tolls that revenge can take on a designer’s life. The ending’s kind of cheesy, but amazingly, the designer guy in this drama turns out be be manly.
Peach Girl-I’m pretty sure that this one is based on the manga, but nevertheless, it’s really good. A lot of cat fighting going on and some stuff that happens is unbelievable. The boyfriend was dumb enough not to recognize his own girlfriend and “accidentally” loses his virginity to another girl. This other girl happens to be the popular one, but also really mean, scheming one and is his girlfriend’s biggest enemy. In the end, I like who she ends up with because although it’s not her boyfriend, she realizes that he’s a good person.
These are my top three favorites.
