Why Paul Blart Mall Cop is a Great American Movie
Paul Blart Mall Cop carries out modern American values with finesse.
Paul Blart. That name means something to almost everyone, but not the same something. Many people hear that name and thing “wow what a dumb movie.” Others like myself hear that name and recall Paul Blart Mall Cop, a great American movie. Many people will disagree that Paul Blart is a classic movie, but I have constructed some points to convince them otherwise.
First of all, Paul Blart is a movie about mall cops, yes mall cops. Some people will say that they hate them but think about it. Who keeps those meddlesome teenage druggies out of the mall? mall cops. Who stops thiefs from stealing the last pair of shorts your size? Mall cops. Mall cops are essential to American society, and so a movie recognizing a patriotic, kind hearted one like Paul Blart is an instant classic.
Second, this movie has a theme that unfortunately is very present in modern America, obesity. Many Americans can relate to being obese, and Paul Blart captures the American obesity problem perfectly. Paul Blart says “I meant get the pie now ma, once you said it I couldn’t get it out of my head.” This train of thought is something that many Americans relate to.
Another reason Paul Blart is a classic is that Paul rides around on a segway during the movie, which America has decided is the coolest gadget. His use of the segway characterizes modern American technology.
Finally, the main part that makes Paul Blart a classic is that even though he is a obese mall cop, he still gets the pretty girl just because he is a nice guy. This is a great moral at the end of the story that is trying to tell America that there is hope for everyone, no matter how bleak it seems. Paul Blart teaches us that we should be content with what we have, because their is someone out there for everyone.
