Spread: The Sexy End of Summer Comedy

“Spread” is one of the sex filled comedies’ that end shrouded in romanticism. Nikki, the lead character, comes to L.A. with big dreams. He wants an easy life, surrounded by wealthy women. Ashton Kutcher, the one playing Nikki, takes on the role of an idler aware of his charm, who knows exactly what he wants from life.

One sexy man loves two women

After some time spent in many luxurious bedrooms enjoying the life handed to him by the women he seduces, Nikki meets Samantha (played by Anne Heche), a lawyer well over her prime. With her, Nikki seems to have found what he was looking for, the care free life that can be offered by a rich woman, who is also convinced that he is loyal.

The appearance of Heather, a young waitress, played by Margarita Levieva, destroys Nikki’s plans. Heather lives the same life he does and uses the same tricks to live her life at the max, with a minimum expense of money and feelings. Nikki’s winning strategy, thoroughly explained in the first part of the movie, is not going to work in the case of this young waitress.

Nikki, the charmer, has to choose between Samantha’s money and true love. Initially Samantha was to be played by Jennifer Jason Leigh, but she turned down the part because she was expecting a child.

Ashton Kutcher, who is also the movie’s producer, has been married since 2005 with Demi Moore. Nikki and Ashton have a real life similarity, the age difference between them and the women in their lives. Demi Moore is 15 years older than Kutcher, an age difference that has attracted a lot of news attention. Ashton started his career as a model and then got his first role in “That ‘70s Show”. His popularity is primarily due to the media attention his relationship with Demi Moore has gathered. Although he appears in many hot scenes in this movie, Ashton’s wife has declared she hasn’t been a bit gelous and is a big fan of the movie.
