Because I had nothing to do last night, I asked a few friends if they wanted to go do something. While most ignored me, I did manage to get over the theatre, and see the movie yes man. I just want to share that it was well worth the money, and I will highly recommend it.
For those of you that have seen the previews you pretty much know the basis of this movie. There is this guy Carl (Carey) that doesn’t want to commit to anything. He’s afraid that once he says yes to something he will get too emotionally attached to it, and it will leave his life forever.
He meets an old friend, who tells him to go to a motivational speaker that helps people with whatever is going on. Basically Carl gets stuck with a “convenient” that says he must say yes to everything or he breaks a promise to himself, which is a very bad thing.
He leaves the convention debating whether to do it or not, but when a homeless man asks for a ride to the park he gives him one. The man uses up his phones battery, then carl runs out of gas, and is force to walk all the way do the hill where he runs into a girl that he later asks out.
I won’t go any farther than that, for you need to see the rest yourself. When I saw that Jim Carey was acting in my 1st reaction was “I’d rather not.” The reason for this, was that Ace Ventura made me look at him as a complete idiot, though I will say that after see this, I’ve changed my mind. He is a very good comedian, and I plan on going to see this movie at least one more time.
This movie is not for young kids. There is a lot of humor that I would consider questionable, however, I think as long as you don’t get offend easily its well worth your money. There is a bit of nudity, and the language is bad at times. For storyline, humor, and worth your money I give this a 5/5. Go see it.
