Movie Review of Johnny English

A review of the Rowan Atkinson comedy.

Synopsis:  An idiot working at MI-7 in Britain is forced to save his country after all the other agents are wiped out, making him the top agent.

Who’s in it? Rowan Atkinson, Ben Miller and John Malkovich.

What I liked about this movie: Rowan Atkinson’s physical comedy is outstanding and he uses it quite a few times throughout this film to sell the scene. Some of the comedy was actually a bit weak. But, because of him, we were still laughing uncontrollably.

I especially love how he accidentally saves the day at the end. It’s just one of those things that is very creative and very unexpected.

What I didn’t like about this movie:  Some parts of the film are actually very predictable and, at times, I felt like I had seen specific scenes in other films before. As I said before, Atkinson managed to make them enjoyable anyway. But, they still could have been better with a little more originality.

Final Opinion: Atkinson’s Mr. Bean character is slightly better but I thought this was a fantastic movie that I would gladly watch again.

My Grade: 4 stars out of a possible 5.
