Fancy a “Hangover”? (Todd Phillips, 2009)

Four men with differing personalities descend on Las Vegas for the stag night to end all stag nights. This hugely successful comedy and one of 2009’s biggest hits benefits from being earnest where necessary.

From the team behind the decent college comedy Road Trip (2000) comes a film about four men (played with varying success by Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis and Justin Bartha) who embark on a stag night that they will never forget, or is that one they will never remember?! When they wake from their weekend of fun and decadence in Sin City’s Caesar Palace they are greeted not only by a baby but a fully-grown tiger and to top it all, they seem to have lost the groom! How the hell did this happen? they cry and so we embark on a fun 90-minute journey to discover just how our three best men got into this mess.

If New York is the city that never sleeps then Las Vegas is surely the city that has never slept (image via Wikipedia)

A decent film of innuendo, memory-loss and indulgence which sees many of our heroes’ actions come back to haunt them. I appreciated the way the night was related to us in flashback and by the people whom our gang had come into contact with during their Vegas lime. 6/10
