Unfortunately, the parts of the movie that were almost funny were the parts that were seen in previews, as well as the commercials for it on television. The movie appeared to be worth waiting for when previews came out a few months ago, but it was a big disappointment. It probably had potential. It was done as decently as it could be with Jack Black as the main character. The relationship between he and Michael Cera did not seem to work for the movie. Attention was definitely lost during it, and while it wasn’t longer than your typical movie, it seemed to drag on for quite a bit.
The movie is basically about two members of a tribe who don’t seem to fit in. They don’t feel like contributing much and are terrible at their given responsibilities. They do not seem well liked or even noticed much by the other members until they cause trouble and then a scene, from when they run away. Later on, they run into these members of their tribe and it becomes a whole incident. Both Black and Cera are in love with two women from their tribe, and in the end it works out for them both…of course.
Final say: don’t bother going to see it. Rent it if there’s really nothing else available.
