Woman’s Taste of Bad Movies is Also Man’s Preference
They secretly watch it. Honest!
A proud and straight guy will not admit that he watch chick flick movies. He will admit it only and say, “My girlfriend drag me into it”. Who are you kidding? Of course, men love to watch it. They secretly rent a movie tapes about chick flick movies or watch it in the internet but they will never acknowledge that they like it the way women does.
Let’s face it. The Notebook (one of the top chick flick movie ever shown) will not become popular if Ryan Gosling is not in it. Nicholas Sparks, the author of the book will not write “The Notebook” unless he did not believe in love. The recent film, Twilight Saga: New Moon received bad feedbacks. Some reviews were sexist. But heck, the film was under the direction of a guy. So why does men pretended that movies like these are so womanly, wantonly crazy that they won’t ever like it like the woman does? Well? Not proven yet.
Cover of The Notebook
Way back then, I met this guy who loved to watch Titanic. He told me he was so crazy about Kate Winslet and Leonardo Di Caprio that he has to watch it all over and over again. And, every time he watched it, he could not stop his tears from falling. Oh my? Yeah, that was oh my. I was about to burst my comedy but I had to control it because it wasn’t nice to butt in with laughter when someone was so emotional about one particular event. It made me think if he was straight or not. Who wouldn’t?
If you try to ask men if they watch chick-flicks movies, of course they won’t admit it. But, if you drag on a topic of what happened when Harry Met Sally in the movie, they would figure out what you will say next. Some men will comment why women have poor taste in movies but they didn’t realize that most directors of those chick flick movies were men. Created by men and powered by men. How come they blame women of having poor taste?
What a shame?

True and I agree. TX
My husband love watching these chick-flicks with me.
I like Titanic the best among the all. I listen to its song regularly, so inspiring!
You made a great point, Mys! Chick flick movie or not, a good movie is just a good movie!
Yes I agree too… they secretly love it haha!
I am a fan ( i.e The Libertine, Total Eclipse, Midsummer Night’s Dream, Chocolat, The Man Who Cried, etcetera )

Although I do not like Titanic, Romeo & Juliet(the play, indeed but the 90’s movie was horrible with the exception of the family feud scenes…) or The Notebook, but mostly b/c, in my opinion they were blown out of proportion …
your definitely right…
So true.
I admit it I loved Titanic, and while I’m at it on chick flick confessions I loved Mamma Mia (apart from Brosnan’s appalling singing!)
