Why Twilight Fails

Why it failes

I think twilight fails because of its plot that is not aligned with present knowledge of vampires. For example, Edward has no fangs, he does not sleep in a coffin, in fact he does not seem to sleep at all he also roams around in daylight, when vampires should crumple to dust.

Romance FAILED

The romance is also strange. Why would a girl approach a strange boy when she knows he might be a blood-sucking killer? Good looks and popularity prevail over safety? The movie, from a film stand point, wasn’t cohesive, fluid or well made. First, there were some beautiful angles and scenes that were well made. Other scenes were again, extremely cheesy (flying up trees, HUGE 360 shots, the baseball scene, the “fight” scene). From the book “Dracula” vampires are able to turn into and controll animals. The throwback scenes were bad, really bad. Obviously, I’m not film critic but there were a few scenes that were just embarrassing to watch. 

Marketing FAILED

THEY DIDN’T MISTIFY THE FANS! For having such a HUGE fan potential they could have done so much more. I think they were banking on the fact that nearly all the fans are teenage girls that would be seduced by kissing scenes and a few chest hairs of Edward. If you look at any major movie adaptation of a popular series (Harry Potter for an example) they always amaze the fans, not with sexuality or handsom people, but with mystary and amazing effects. I was neither satisfied nor amazed.

Acting FAILED

All the vampire parts were cheesy, overacted and poorly portrayed with the slight (very slight) exception of the actor who played Edward Cullen (He is so pale, he’s albino! OMG so beautiful cancer). For example the sexy madness? Bad vampires (horrible choice of actors, horrible costumes, horrible casting, and a setting). These characters should have been much more dark and scary and much less euro trash discotec. I could give about 15 other examples, but I have better things to do than stating the horribably obvious. Bella is portrayed as a “smart” person, yet she decides to forget colledge to be with Edward?! She also has no goals or a life planned for herself. Maybe she is so obsessed with edward to have no life. Edward is portrayed as a stalker and a creep. Staring at Bella while she sleeps? I woud be a little cancerned if somone was staring at me while I was sleeping, wouldn’t you? However, Bella is in fact, excited that Edward is watching! …..wierd?
