What Have We Done

I have recently watched the movie “The Day the Earth Stood Still” and honestly i didn’t know what to expect. But the movie had completely astounded me and in a sense it had opened my eyes to what was happening to the planet. Now to all those that don’t believe in global warming, I say Nay, this IS happening and getting worse every second of every day. I have read one article over another of the holes in our ozone layer. And there are 2 PERMANENT holes in the ozone. Permeneant! Meaning it will NOT go away or fix itself, no matter how much time we give it. Which got me thinking, “What in the world have we done to this planet?”. 

I understand that all these things don’t seem like a big deal to us now but what would happen to the people later on? Will our great great grandchildren have to suffer because of our mistakes? Will this world be even able to support life then? Or perhaps we will change for the better. But from what is happening right now change is not as likely.

We are killing this planet with all of our cars, factories, and waste. This is not a destined fate. We could change this and i honestly do hope we do change this.

To those that believe that they couldn’t do anything. You are wrong. You could have rode the bus to work or carpooled. You could have recycled all that paper. You could have just paid that extra 10 or 100 dollars for that eco-friendly alternative. All these small things add up.

We were given choices to save this world. We chose to ignore them until now. We waited until it was too late. We didn’t take all of this proof seriously. We have dug our own graves by doing this. 

The Earth is in our hands.
