What Do Iron Man Three and The Lethal Weapon Movies Have in Common?

Not a lot is known about the new, and highly anticipated, Iron Man movie, Iron Man 3. But thanks to IMDB we now know who is going to direct it, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang director Shane Black.

Iron Man 3 will be Shane’s second directorial outing. What’s that, you say? Only ever directed one other movie, you call that credentials, You call that street cred? Now first of all, calm down, because if it’s awesome action movies, wise-cracking characters and witty banter you’re after, then Shane Black may just be the man for the job. Black was a writer for all four Lethal Weapon films, and if that’s not enough he also wrote other favorites like The Last Boy Scout and the The Last Action Hero. So that all bodes well for the new Iron Man film. If Iron Man 3 can be in the same league as any if the above mentioned films, it will surely ROCK!! And if you are one of these “younger generation” who haven’t seen any of the above mentioned films then please do yourself a favor and get your butt down to the video store asap! Each of these fantastic movies will probably only cost you $1 a week to rent, now THAT’S value!!

Jon Favreau was the director of the last Iron Man outing, and while he did an outstanding job, something tells me that Iron Man 3, with Shane Black at the helm, could be worth getting excited about, which I’m sure millions of people will.

Iron Man 3 has a scheduled release date of May 3, 2013 and will star Robert Downey Jr. (of course) and the absolutely gorgeous Scarlett Johansson. Now I know that Shane Black is also on board, I’m going to be watching this one on my blog The Movie Examiner.
