We Have a Lifelong Phobia for Snakes; But This One Feeds on Elephants and Tigers
They say it can kill an elephant or even swallow a tiger.
Would you believe that limbless scaly elongate; much feared venomous reptile; commonly known as snake can measure up to a length ranging from 5.21 to 7.5 meters. At this size it can weigh as much as 97, 5 kilograms. It is one of the heaviest varieties of living snakes in the world.
Yes, you have guessed it right. It is the green anaconda. It is not a prehistoric creature. It still abides in the forests of Venezuela; Colombia; the Guiana; Peru; Ecuador; Brazil; Trinidad; and Bolivia.
There are other varieties as well. They are called yellow anaconda; and dark spotted anaconda. These are found in other parts of the world.

The word anaconda in Sri Lankan language means to kill an Elephant, though anacondas are not an inhabitant of Sri Lanka. In some folklore anacondas have swallowed even a tiger.
Nevertheless, by comparison anaconda is not the largest snake in the world. Reticulated python can measure up to nine meters length. Another variety of snake Titanoboa cerrejonensis snakes are now extinct. These were 12 to 15 meters long, which is almost double the length of now existing anaconda.

Anaconda’s size and ferocity as described in some folklore has inspired some film makers to create films on this creature by the same name anaconda. One such adventure horror film was made in the year 1997, followed by more films. In the film a giant anaconda regurgitate its victim, just to experience the pleasure of swallowing him once again. It was an awesome spectacle.
Although the film was not received well yet, it was a success at the box office.

Interesting info.
thanks for sharing this interesting info about snakes. We don’t normally have huge snakes here but recently, my brother saw one as big around as his thigh.
I’ve only seen snakes in a pet shop, unfortunately. The are more scorpions in my neighborhood. Great share =]
Nice Share.
Snakes not my farovite thing. Copperheads are everywhere here. You have to check everything in the yard before your children can go out and play they hide under everything.
Good informative article! If I visit some Latin American country, I will check before sitting on an uprooted tree lying across innocuously a little away from the highway. Thanks for the article.
