The Movie War Horse, is an inspirational film by director Steven Spielberg. This movie was nominated best film of the year. The storyline follows Joey, the horse, through the whole movie then switches back to Albert, the boy who raised and trained Joey, later on in the story when it shows Joey in Trouble.
I think Jeremy Irvine (Albert) really played his role well. Albert is supposed to show a lot of grief when his father sells Joey to the army and that is exactly what Jeremy does. I think that the film should be focused on Albert mostly since the story starts off following Albert not Joey. The film switches to many more characters that have little to do with the story line, then switches to Joey and his path through the war as a hero.
If I was told to rate this movie from one to five, I would rate it at a four because the storyline is too confusing. The movie jumps around too much to different people, and different places. However, over all, War Horse is one of Spielberg’s best films. Peter Rainer from The Christian Science Monitor thought that Spielberg took the idea of War horse from his earlier movies such as E.T., and Saving Private Ryan. Despite the possible lack of originality, War Horse is one of the best films from 2011.
