Twilight Film

Twilight is the gripping tale of love, romance and vampires. The movie was released in 2008, and filmed in Oregon in several schools and towns, but set in Forks, Washington in the film. This epic film based on the novel by Stephanie Myer, and directed by Catherine Hardwicke. The movie is rated PG, so children can see the it, even though the is aimed at teenagers and young adults.

Twilight is a story of a girl named in Bella, played by Kirsten Steward, who goes to live with her father in Forks, and attends a local school where she meets her destiny that will completely change her life. Her destiny begins when she meets the mysterious Edward Cullens in biology class. Edward Cullens is played by Robert Pattinson who also played Cedric Diggery in the successful film of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

If I have one criticism about this film, which I have many, it would be the music tracks, which could have been chosen better. Also they completely changed from the traditional bloodthirsty vampire who can be killed by wooden stakes and warded off by garlic, instead they chose the more tame vegetarian vampires who try to protect humans instead of suck all their blood. A good example of the perfect vampire movie would be Blade which had more action and gore, and therefore a better movie. On the bright side, the scenery of the film was fantastic; they set the movie in a beautiful place and would have caught the eyes of nature lovers.

Another criticism I have about this film is the bad plot of the film. It could have been better if they made it along the lines of the human race trying to defend itself from the bloodthirsty vampire race, with two main characters who fall in love and leading the human race to victory. This would have added more action and adventure into the film, so it would atleast keep the viewer awake.

My opinion on this film is that it is boring and lacks action, although the fight between Edward and James woke me up, it didn’t last long and so I fell asleep again. I would recommend this film to teenagers and young female adults and people who got nothing better to do.
