The new „Twilight saga: New Moon” is an upcoming American romantic fantasy film.It is based on the novel of the same name by Stephenie Meyer .Directed by Chris Wietz ,the film stars Kristen Stewart ,Robert Patison and Taylor Lautner.
Due to major physical changes that occur in the character of Jacob Black between Twilight and New Moon, Weitz considered replacing Taylor Lautner in the sequel with an actor who could more accurately portray the „new” , larger Jacob Black.Vigorous to keep his role Taylor Lautner trained hard and eventually gained 30 pounds.In January 2009 the film autorities announced that Taylor will continue playing the role of Jacob in New Moon.A casting for Jacob`s Wolfpack was made.The rest of the Quileute tribe was chosen by casting director Rene Haynes.He said we are looking for “any first nations/aboriginal actors and actresses between the ages of 15 and 25″
The Twilight director describes the movie that way: it is warehouse,it’s got visual effects that turn people into werewolves,it`s got motorcycle stunts,you go to Italy,it is probably twice much as”Twilight” .On the released synopsis Bella is devastated by the abrupt departure of her vampire love(Edwart Cullen) but her spirit is rekindled by her growing friendship with Jacob Black.All of a sudden she lets herself go into werewolves,ancestral enemies with vampires ,and finds her loyalties tested.
The movie was filmed in Canada and Italy.Vancouver`s David Thompson Secondary School was used as a location for the high school scenes. Filming in Montepulciano, Italy occurred in late May 2009 and ended on the 29th.The soundtrack was composed by Alexandre Desplat while the rest of the soundtrack was chosen by music supervisor Alexandra Patsavas. The New Moon: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack album was released on October 16, 2009 by Patsavas` Chop Shop label,in conjunction with Atlantic Records, and climbed number one just a week after publishing,selling over 153 000 copies
The first promotional poster of New Moon was presented on May 19,2009. On ay 31, Robert Pattinson and the rest of the stars revealed the film’s first trailer at MTV Movie Awards.Since then three new trailers have been released,the newest was on 27 October 2009.
Twilight fever has conquered the world and many theater showings sold out as early as two months prior to the film’s November 20, 2009 release date.
Of course there are critics of the movie.Digital Spy praised Kristen Stewart for ‘carrying the film on her shoulders and, once again, bringing plenty of soul to a character’ but was critical of a lack of action, ultimately calling it ‘a draining experience’. Time Out New York stated that the film is ‘acceptable escapism for those old enough to see it yet still young enough to shriek at undead dreamboats.
Critisized or not,good or bad this film is one of this years ` special events and many of us are waiting for the release date…Don`t worry it is coming.
