Truly, a Moving Work of Art
My taste in movies vary with my mood, but some of them, really appeal to me in a way that others never could. Its not because its the most clever, or the most appealing, its because its unbelievably well made, amazingly entertaining and most of all, it expands our boundaries.( image courtesy to Google search and I do not own any of them).
The list below is not in any order , but my favorite among them would be the last. Whoa don’t scroll down yet, read and enjoy.
Renaissance Man (1994)

Starring Danny DeVito,Renaissance man spins the tale of a divorced advertising executive who somehow ends up teaching military students “Shakespeare”.The film all throughout was very heartwarming, and it gave many of us quite a useful insight on the life of a military born children, the hardships, the loss and the attachment between them.I personally loved this movie right from the beginning , and i recommend it to anyone who enjoys a quick semi-comedy flick.
Good Morning, Vietnam (1987)

This 1987 film appealed to my sense of realism, perception and honour. One of Robin Williams earlier movies, it tells the tale of a radio DJ in Saigon, Vietnam during the war. The poor soul is seemingly lost in a world of harsh truth and the only thing he can do is watch, report and try to raise morale in the only way possible.Through slap-stick comedy. This movie brings out 2 completely different aspects, comedy and drama, together in an absolutely beautiful way, and is one of the most unforgettable movies that I have ever come across.
From Hell (2001)

No good countdown leaves behind a decent horror/thriller movie and thus I have included this elaborate mystery involving the case of “Jack the ripper”. Johnny Depp , claiming the lead role, protrays the main detective excellently and in a most believable manner. The film revolved around the brutal murders of a small group of women and is based on a book written by Alan Moore. The pure thrill, suspense and over all , awe-inspiring directing , this film proves to be quite the entertainer if not the scarer.
Rat Race ( 2001 )

Judging by my list , you would probably call me either a total nut or uptight , or several other things depending on who exactly reads this, but I, like every normal person , enjoy a quick comedy film and Rat Race seems to fulfill a lot of my expectations when it comes to comedy.Comprising of a star studded ( if I do say so myself ) cast of unforgettable actors like Rowan Atkinson , Whoopi Goldberg , Seth Green, Jon Lovitz and even the band Smash Mouth ( if you’ve seen “Shrek” , you probably know who they are) among others. The plot brings us to a race to find a bank account containing a huge sum of money, and each of the contestants ( the actors obviously ) ,battle it out in the most enjoyable way. A must see for all comedy lovers. It falls under my list for another, odd reason. It reminds me of an old movie called “Rat hunt”..which i watched maybe 50 odd times when i was a kid, maybe some of you may know it. Then again, who am i kidding.
Front of the class ( 2008 )

This , for me is one of the greatest and most touching films that i have ever seen.Based on a true story , of how a boy, seemingly cursed with tourettes syndrome, learns to except himself, and becomes, what no one ever thought he could be, a teacher. It protrays his younger days, the few who supported him and how he grew to accept his defects, and how he overcame them, to achieve his dreams.Truly inspiring , breathtaking and a very wonderful movie overall and I encourage each and every one reading this to watch it, for it truly is, a masterpiece.
My views may differ grossly from you, my readers, but know this , views are one of the few things we are entitled to.Some of you may have expected a science fiction movie like Star wars , or a Box office hit , but know, what you got was a list of movies you may or may not have heard of.But these films taught me what many others failed to do.They taught me the value of life, and how valuable it is indeed.
Thank you for reading .

Its okay to smile god dammit , and thanks again.
