Top Three Movies to See in Theaters

These are the movies worth your money to see on the big screen. They are Defiance, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, and Gran Torino.

I truly love a movie that can capture history and truth in the same story. Defiance does just that and more. This movie based on a true story takes place during World War II, 1941. The Nazi’s are massacring thousands of Jews in northern Europe. Except for Three brothers who escape into the forest where they grew up and make a stand to defend anyone who will follow. Daniel Craig, Liev Shreiber, and Jamie Bell play the three brothers. With an outstanding cast Daniel Craig gives an award winning performance that blows Bond out of the water.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is a different type of tale starring Brad Pitt, and Cate Blanchett. The setting takes place after World War I where Brad’s character is born as a baby who instead of being well, a baby, he is a newborn well into his eighties. The story then go’s on to show his life as he gets older, or in this case younger and his experiences with the people in his life. One of which is Cate’s character who is a childhood friend and later love interest. Both Brad and Cate give great performances as usual but I think this time the story takes the lime light.

Clint Eastwood, stars in Gran Torino, which he also directed. The man is a god in the movie world and knows how to make a great film. He plays a veteran of the Korean War named, Walt Kowalski, who is now still haunted by his experiences in combat. After his wife dies he only has two things left in life that he cherishes, his Gran Torino and the M-1 riffle that saved his life during the war. His character is angry, racist, and doesn’t like the way his crime ridden, Detroit, neighborhood has fallen apart. Every day is a struggle for him and the one thing he hates the most is disrespect. His wife before she died made their priest promise to get old Walt to confession so he can find a little piece, but Walt is stubborn, keeps refusing, and sets his own path for salvation. This is by far one of Clint Eastwoods best movies.

If you like movies, and going to the big screen to see them then you can’t avoid these three great films. They are a must see at the box office.
