It may seem like a long time from now, but 2012 is going to have the biggest movie lines when these top five movies come out in theaters. Let’s hope that they don’t all come out at the same time though, because there will be a lot of people running down movie ushers just to sneak into some of these films.
#5-The Dark Knight Rises
Little is known about this upcoming Batman flick, other than the fact that it will have Batman Vs Bane.
Bane, the big hulk of a creation who once broke Batman’s back, will be played by the extremly handsome Tom Hardy. Also a new addition is Anne Hathaway, who most are expecting to either become Catwoman at the end of this film, or in the next film. Other stars include Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, and the leading star of the current franchise Christian Bale. There is also the addition of Joseph Gordon-Levitt, however, he seems to not have been written in yet for us outsiders looking in. We just know that he is confirmed to be somewhere in the movie.
This film is supposedly coming out July 20, 2012 in the USA, but something could always happen to change that. Hopefully, that thing could move the movie up and not farther away.
#4- The Hobbit Part I
I, myself, can not wait for this movie to come out into theaters. This movie is based off of the first J.R.R Tolkien book, “The Hobbit” and has casted most of the cast from the Lord of the Rings movie series. This includes Elijah Wood, Christopher Lee, Orlando Bloom, Ian McKellen and Andy Serkis. And there are a few rumored faces in the mix, but the one that most stands out is that of Leonard Nemoy for the voice of the dragon Smaug.
I know I will be trembling in my boots when I see the guy on the big screen. Heck, I was afraid of that dragon when I watched the animated movie as a kid, and if I saw it now, I would still hide under a pillow.
This is set to come out December 19, 2012. I think I’ll be waiting to see this the daytime, I don’t want to have any nightmares if Smaug is in the first part, which it looks like he will be.
#3- The Amazing Spider-Man
Starring Andrew Garfield as the new web-slinger, this film is going right back to Peter Parker’s high school years and staying there. And there will be no red-head Mary Jane either, no-sir-ee, we are having a blonde bombshell Gwen Stacy, played by Emma Stone, for our viewing pleasure in this Spidey film. Also, the villian will be The Lizard, played by Rys Ifans. Are you scared and excited for this to come out? I know I am. Especially if they bring me back to loving Spider-Man. After all, I have had my ups and downs with the cartoons and I am sure we all were getting tired of Tobey Maguire.
This film is set to come out July 3, 2012, and I for one will most likely be waiting at the midnight showing when this comes out.
#2- The Mortal Instruments
Based on the book series by Cassandra Clare, this movie will be about demons, Shadowhunters who fight demons and protect mundanes(humans), and a girl who thinks that she is a regular mundane, but is in fact a Shadowhunter. The main characters, for those of you who don’t know, are Jace Wayland, Clary Fray, Magnus Bane, Alec Lightwood, and Simon Lewis. Now, I’m not going to spoil the books for you who haven’t read them, but I will tell you who everyone wants to be in the film. It is confirmed that Lily Collins will be playing Clary, unconfirmed that Alex Pettyfer will be playing Jace, and rumored that Darren Criss will be playing Magnus Bane. Gaspard Ulliel did appear on IMDb’s site as rumored for the role of Alec, but has since been taken down.
The only thing confirmed for this movie is the 2012 date of entering the world, and the assurance of screams from fans if Alex Pettyfer is cast as Jace. Afterall, if you ask every fan out there who they think should be cast as Jace Wayland, 99.9% of them are to scream “Alex Pettyfer is Jace Wayland!”
#1-The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn
I could do this in parts, but I’m not even sure if I will be watching the first part until the second part comes out in 2012. Now, a lot of people love the series and the book series, and I am not one of them. However, because of the fans, this film gets Spot Numero Uno. Starring Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, these films will be the end of the franchise unless someone decides to reboot it for some insane reason. This movie will be about Bella Swan and Edward Cullen’s honeymoon, pregnancy scare, and the birthing of their child Renesmee. Renesmee will be appearing in the second film, which makes us all fear the birthing scene which will most likely be at the end of “Breaking Dawn Part II.”
The first part, coming out on November 18, 2011. The second part coming out on November 16, 2012. The theaters will be packed for both films, but if the ending of the first is really the birthing scene, you can be sure that the theater bathrooms will also be filled during the first movie’s entry into the world.
