Created in 1994 this movie was an instant box office and critical success. Directed and written by Frank Darabont this movie is definitely the best crime movie of all time. The story coupled with the superb acting of Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman make The Shawshank Redemption a must see.
2: The Godfather
The Godfather is a 1972 crime film directed by Francis Ford Coppola. The film is based on a novel by Mario Puzo. The film has an all-star cast that includes; Al Pacino, Marlon Brando and James Cann. The Godfather is one of the greatest crime films ever because of its fantastic cast, great story and brilliant direction. The film also spawned several sequels and all of these were also critically acclaimed.
3: Pulp Fiction
Pulp Fiction is a 1993 crime film directed by Quentin Tarantino. The film is known for its rich, diverse dialogue, ironic mix of humor and violence and host of cinematic allusions and pop culture references. The film was nominated for seven Oscars. It also stars great actors like John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson. Pulp Fiction is a movie everyone must watch.
4: The Dark Night
The Dark Night is 2008 film directed by Christopher Nolan. It is the second Batman film in the modern-day trilogy. This film was hyped greatly due to the superb acting of Heath Ledger an Australian actor who sadly died before the film was released. The film also stars Christian Bale and Sir Michael Caine. The Dark Night keeps you on the edge of your suit throughout the whole film and it is therefore a must see movie.
5: Goodfellas
Goodfellas is a crime film directed by Martin Scorsese. It is definitely Scorsese’s greatest piece. The film performed well at the box office and was a critical success with overwhelmingly positive reviews from critics. The film stars critically acclaimed actors Robert De Niro, Ray Liotta and Joe Pesci. The film was also nominated for six Academy Awards and was named the best film of the year. Goodfellas is a great crime film that everyone should watch.
