Ticket Booking for Movies 1960s and Now
It use to be very interesting to go for movies in 1960s when half a day will be spent in going for the movie. Nowadays we get the tickets booked online and go exactly on time only. Of course nowadays we watch three movies inside the house itself in television or video. A though on this.

t I write here is applicable for Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India and can be extended to other parts of the world also.
About 30/35 years ago we use to go to the cinema theatre two hours before the time, stand in the queue and buy tickets. There were times when I use to return without a ticket just after reaching the ticket counter.
I am reminded of 1960s when my grand mother use to take us for Kamadhenu theatre at 12.00 noon itself for a movie to start at 2.30 pm. We will all be standing in the queue for over 2 hours in the dungeon like entrance collect the tickets (of course cost use to be very cheap –in those day Rs.1.25 was a good ticket), go inside, rush for our seat, occupy and relax. The movie will start boys selling biscuits, coffee will go rounds and sell. then the movie will start with loud noise from the public on the hero”s picture appearing for the first time. Movie will run. Mostly in those days family stories — based on sorrow will be screened,
We use to watch, cry, cry and then come out with big faces. It was interesting to walk back with the crowd discussing about the movie those days,
Nowadays we book tickets through internet. Internet shows only 5 tickets available. But when u go for the show u find only 50 % of seats are full. Does it mean those who have booked have not turned up. Why theatres project such a wrong picture? If u take an auto go to the theatre and try for ticket you may get it.

Lesson: Don’t worry about not getting a ticket thro internet,. If u go in person an hour before u will get the ticket.
