Three Bollywood Love Affairs That Invite Curiousity

Bollywood has its share of gossip like Hollywood,but some love affairs among the leading stars have not ended the gossip about them.

TThe Indian film industry is the biggest in the world in terms of the number of films produced. Out of the Indian film centers,the alma mater of Hindi films, Mumbai,popularly referred to as Bollywood is the most popular and has a world wide appeal. Bollywood has thrown up stars that rival Hollywood in popularity and millions follow the lives and associated gossip of the leading stars. Thus it is inevitable that their private life would come under scrutiny. Liaisons and love affairs are thus eagerly followed.

Three love affairs have ruled the gossip world of tinsel town. The first to catch the imagination of the public was the affair of Raj Kapoor with Nargis. This was in the early fifties,when both stars ruled the silver screen. Raj Kapoor was unfortunately married and thus could not marry Nargis. But their chemistry in the films in which they acted together can still be sensed. However this love was doomed and both after a liaison of many years drifted apart and Nargis married Sunil Dutt.But as both the stars are no more,one can reflect on the love between the two that gave us some memorable films.

The second affair that caught the imagination of the public was the Dilip Kumar-Madhubala affair.Both acted in the movie Mughul-e-Azam and were close together. In fact Dilip the number one Bollywood star of the fifties and sixties proposed marriage to Madhubala. But she spurned the offer on pressure from her close relations.It was a sad moment and Dilip remained a bachelor for a long time, till he married Saira Banu. Madhubala died young of a heart ailment.It was another tragic affair.

The last affair that comes to mind and ruled the imagination of the public was between Amitabh Bacchan and the lovely south Indian actress Rekha. It also ended as the others as Amitabh was already married and after his accident while shooting a film,he transformed and drifted away from Rekha.
