Three Bewitching Women of the Movies
A good number of women have left non-ephemeral marks in my mind. Some of them are fair and some are colored and even dark. It is a fact that I possess great fascination for women. But this short writing is to remember three women of the silver-screen who have made me infatuated in different period of my life.

- Sophia Loren is an Italian blonde and is much senior to me. Actually her year of birth is 1934. Oh my goodness! My first encounter with her was in the year when I have just learned to taste the joy of the physique. I have just watched her in ‘Two Women’ (Vittorio De Sica’s 1964 movie). Wonderful! I have watched her in ‘A Countess from Hong Kong’, Charlie Chaplin’s last movie (1967) and in this film Marlon Brando has acted against her. In the ‘The fall of the Roman Empire’ she was paid a sum of $ 1 million. I have watched her last in the fantastic ‘The Sunflower’. Her family name is Sofia Villani Scicoloneshe and in the horrible days of the 2nd World War she has received an injury in her chin by a bomb.
- Have you heard about Suchitra Sen, the most mysterious movie beauty of the Bengali film world? She has conquered my heart since the early days of my teenage. I have hardly watched any female physique in the celluloid where beauty and sex have such unbelievable blending. This woman possesses magnificent personality with wide and speaking eyes. Her single glance or a simple movement of the limbs or just a quick shift of the neck creates unforgettable pieces of beauty. Uttom Kumar, the most popular Bengali matinee idol has been set against her in most of the films. ‘Shapmochon’, ‘Sobar Opore’, ‘Bipasha’ , ‘Grihodaho’ and ‘Harano sur’ to name a few. Most of the top-ranking Indian stars have acted against her. ‘Deep Jwele Jai’, ‘Sat Pake Bnadha’ and ‘Soptopodee’ are few of the many films in which she has left marks of her talent.
- Rekha is famous for her wonderful asking eyes and she is the daughter of the legendary Gemini Ganeshan of the Deccan filmdom. From the day of her debut film ‘Rangula Ratnam’ to ‘Parinita’ has been a long journey in her career with many an eye-brow raising meanderings. This talented dance-smith has performed peerlessly in ‘Umrao Jan’. ‘Silsila’ and ‘Krrish’ are some of her films which the filmgoers will never forget.

These enigmatic women have occupied me and perturbed me and made me feel fortunate to accept the world as a place with plenty of pleasure.
