The world of 3D TV and movies is well upon us! Many new films released are now able to be shown in 3D, and better than the anaglyptic system (blue & red glasses). Even the TV provider “sky” has its own 3D channel which is becoming more popular day by day.
The three main types of 3D are:
- Anaglyptic (blue and red glasses)
- Stereoscopic (active shutter, in my opinion, the best)
- Polarized (polarized glasses)
Click on the types above to learn more about them. And for a rundown of the history of 3D, click here.
As mentioned before, cinemas are making use of this technology, and are starting to show more and more films in 3D. Of course it’s nice to see a film at the cinema, but you can in fact own these films (in full 3D) to view in the comfort of your own home! Normally, the 3D films are expensive to buy, but you can get them for free, without having to download anything, or put up with pirated copies. Both of which are never a good thing!

I have set up a 3D viewing system from it (3DTV, active shutter glasses, and 3D bluray player), and get a new film every week, totally free! I am steadily building myself a nice collection of 3D films!
